Chris Daughtry

Thread Starter
Any one else enjoying Chris Daughtry's CD? Is a great CD imo. Anyone else agree?

Anyone got any other suggestions for something similar?

Dude, I know the LP thread went off the hinges a little, so I dont want to sound mean or anything, but you need to seriously upgrade your cd collection.

What other artists do you listen to? Have you listened to much classic rock? What other metal cds do you listen to, since you seem to enjoy the moderately harder stuff?

Chris Daughtry is frankly unacceptable. He is a manufactured artist that exist only to sell records, with all soul and originality sucked out of him. You can do much better.

Geez, it's a good thing you put that disclaimer in there or people would just think you were being an arrogant pr1ck.

We've had our differences rlanger, but have you seriously heard Chris Daughtry? Calling it music would be an incredible stretch of the term. If music matters to you, and you think it can be a positive force in someone's life, then what Chris Daughtry should offend you. If it makes me a prick for saying that, I can live with that. Id be much more of a prick by not trying to offer alternatives.

I don't have a problem with you stating your opinion Coltrane. That's what this forum is all about. In fact, I haven't heard Daughtry, but I know from most of your posts that I'd probably agree with your assessment.

What I have a problem with is your holier than thou attitude and occasional personal attacks against others for their opinions.

I told you before, I think you have a lot to offer in the music discussion forum. Sadly though, in the end nobody will want to discuss anything with you.

Regards,

Rob

Please. Of course it is music.
You just don't happen to like it and are arrogant enough to presume that your opinion matters more than anyone else's.

Clear case of thread crapping and not the first time by this member.
The rules are clear: avoid the thread.

If you can find a single personal attack I have made, I would love to see it.

Didn't have to look too far.

That was certainly not a personal attack. I was simply saying that he should get more, and better, music. I then asked about what he listened to so I could make some suggestions, which is what he asked for.

Personal attacks look like this:

"Geez, it's a good thing you put that disclaimer in there or people would just think you were being an arrogant pr1ck."

and

"You just don't happen too like it and are arrogant"

To the OP:

The world is full of musical snobs who assiduously avoid any artist who gains popular acceptance. And woe be to anyone who admits to liking the music of someone who has competed on American Idol! Shame on all of you who have such pedestrian, common tastes!!

I have the Daughtry album and think it is uniformly excellent.

And they look like that as well.

My wife agrees with you. Try www.Last.FM. to find similar music/artists.

And never let ANYONE tell you what you should or should not like.

Pandora.com is of course, a great service as well.

Seriously, the OP shouldn't be afraid to step away from the mainstream.... trust me, you'll be glad you did.
