Yuin PK3 Appreciation Thread - Page 9

Just got mine today. What can I say...wow. First thing I noticed was the excellent packaging. The cylindrical case is convenient. And the sound...wow. Excellent spectrum, good bass, excellent mids, engaging but not fatiguing treble, and excellent (surprisingly excellent) detail. In short - everything I had hoped for considering the hype surrounding these earbuds. Thanks to everyone that reviewed them and lent impressions.

YUIN PK3 Earbuds

After a few days of burn-in, all i can say about these little buds is wow. Theyve cleaned up quite a bit and still have that deep and thumpy bass. I now prefer these to my ksc75. As of right now, my es7 and ksc75 are sitting on the shelf next to the hd555 and marshmallows. I'm perfectly content with my pk3 and sf5p comin out of my tbaam and/or portacorda. The pk3 will without a doubt be the phones that i use with my notebook when i am out and about. Heck..they're being used more than my other cans while I'm sitting here at home I think that these along with my sf5p will definitely remain within my headphone collection when start raising funds for a dt990 purchase.

Caved in.

I was going to wait a month for an extra pay-check to come in, but decided that the PK3 couldn't wait; I literally became obsessed with reading review after review of it, and found that it'd be better to just end this curse and see if anyone at work wanted me to cover their shift >.>;;

$42 shipped...yep....most I've spent on "earbuds" :-) any word on how fast shipping is, to the USA?

Mine just got processed >.> gosh, with 2-6-day shipping...I'll probably get it in 4 days or so since the weekends are coming up, but for $3 I sure ain't complaining

I'm going to stab a pillow if these end up sounding as good as I'm thinking (like ksc75, but tighter in some areas), because it will only make me want the PK2s afterwards....

I used to own the Koss KSC35 and they were very good phones, but I've gotta say that I like the PK3s more than them, though they sound pretty similar in my book.

The PK3s sounded excellent out of the box, and they just keep sounding better and better. And they're so damn comfortable and they don't move around at all like the KSC35s did. Probably the best 25$ I've spent in a long time.

PK3 is a step under the KSC75, nonetheless still a very good value earbud

I don't dare to ask this but I will anyway:

Are these better than the iPod earbuds?

Yeah, but judging from all the talk I really think that the step down is a lack of soundstage due to its design, and that effects the whole sound spectrum, alone. I'm getting impatient, though; only one day since order + weekends. The suspense is killing me.

I hear that the KSC35 are a step above KSC75s, and I'm placing my PK3s above my old KSC35s. Whatever, this is all subjective anyway, but it's just my two cents. The PK3s don't have an enormous sound stage or anything, but it really does sound good. The KSC35s had a larger sound stage but some of the noise got muffled because it wasn't all focused inside your ear like it is with the Yuin PK3. I listen to the PK3s is relatively noisy environments (on the school bus) and it holds it's own pretty well without leaking out much sound at all.

I just picked up a Zune (via the woot deal!) and I like the convenience of the stock earbuds but they seem a bit small on me (yes, I used the included foamies). A few questions:

1) Are Yuin PK3 buds are bigger than the stock Zune buds?
2) Also, s it safe to assume the PK3 and PK2/1 buds are the same size?

Anyhoo... Happy Halloween!

Can anyone who owns MylarOne X3s compare them to these? I want something for when I don't need isolation, and these seem like they may be it.

I imagine needing the volume to be at least 70 decibles, though, so that's still a minus in my book. That's why we have IEMs and canalphones :-)

But for myself, lack of sound-stage is a big hit in quality. I feel that music isn't quite music without that "live" feeling, even if the sound is clear and strong. If it didn't matter that much, then my IEMs would have been enough headphone for me, period. However, hype draws me in like moths to the spending fire; burn, money, burn!

Day two, of my wait. I skipped out on a game of ultimate laser-tag and dinner with some friends because of the money "invested" in these buds. If I can survive at least 2 more weeks without spending squat, my wallet won't haunt me after halloween

And I imagine the mylarones to have three notable differences over the Yuin line of earbuds: soundstage, warm mid-range, and more notable bass. The expense that (in exception to the pk2/3) they give is clarity and mid/high separation of the mylars. I don't imagine it to be much of a cut-back in the latter, though, especially since you seem to have an amp.
