Headphone test idea.

Just had a thought, what if head-fi adopted a few tracks of different genre's that would have high bitrate ~256kbps and people coul download them either free or for like 50 cents, and use these control tracks to find the subtle differences in a pair of headphones. It would boil down to the euipment but could give a decent vs. comparison. Just a thought.

this is exactly what we did this weekend at my place but we tested like 10 different DAPs instead with one control headphone. it's worth doing that way so you have the same reference tracks to work off of. but providing a track online, well, we'd have to have the rights to it. maybe a head-fier would be willing to record themselves singing the ABC song or something and we all could use that!

bah, you can all use the "happy birthday" vid clip with crap resolution from my 20Kth post - i'm not THAT anxious to play out! anyhow, sometimes badly recorded stuff reveals more kinks in the system than tracks that sound good on anything, hehe.
