If you're debating between the HeadRoom Total AirHead and Total BitHead...

Go with the Total BitHead. Music coming from the computer through the BitHead's USB connection sounds much livelier than connecting the AirHead to my HT Omega Striker sound card ($60). However, there's a noticable bass boost with the BitHead, and I'm not sure if I like it yet. I've only used it for a couple of hours, though. I'm listening with Sennheiser HD280s.

What do you suppose is the explanation for the bass boost? How do you like it in general? Other opinions?

I don't know what he's refering to. I hear nothing but a neutral, even sound played back through my AKG 601's or Shure E500's. Sure, when I use my AKG K81DJ's the bass is a bit more prominent, but that's the headphone not the amp.
