Test your hearing online - Page 2

Reading the instructions, you're suppsed to find a comfortable, easy tone at 1kHz as a base tone, then find the dB for each other tone that SUBJECTIVELY sounds as loud as the 1kHz baseline tone.

Great hearing, take care of it.

This is more about the FR of headphones if you ask me.

Just being able to hear the tones at the -90 or whatever range isn't what the test is about. The test is about getting each tone to sound at the same loudness. I recommend staying on the upper half for the 1khz tone, as the lower half has some nasty compression artifacts.

agreed. can't see how the threshold test ultimately makes sense, unless you use it roughly against your old score with same equip. the other test does make sense though.

i understand, however i can see the point of trying to measure your level of audition through all set of frequencies - it is in fact what you do when they make you an audition test (had one recently for my company's insurance ... - could hear all the sounds! )

I did the test again with my PX-100 and MS-1 later night with no noise around got this:

30Hz - -48dB
45Hz - -60dB
60Hz - -69dB
from 90Hz till 6KHz - flat at -90dB
8KHz - -87dB
12KHz - -87dB
16KHz - -81dB

Quite !

Yeah.. I think it's tottaly normal.. I supose you did it with your HD600, and they have a lot more impedance and lower sensibility!

Highest i can hear is

-70dB at 30Hz
-78dB at 16kHz

on Earsonics Sm2, volume of my Computer is at 5/20, which is moderate sound level that i listen at everyday. So not sure how accurate this is...as i think the decibel mesurement is completely defeated if i just turn the volume up on my computer...
