I saw him live over at Lincoln Center. He really is that crazy.

But he also plays the crap outta that piano. "Crazy Good" I guess is what you'd say. The Ryu of the classical world? SHORYUKEN!

He is indeed technically brilliant, but that and his theatrics are really the only redeeming factors as a pianist.

LOL that is so hilarious. I understand his intents and his feelings of music but that is really brilliant in a strange way. I guess that's how genius child musicians are like. You never know what they're thinking but they think of things we would never think of but make it into something magnificent. Ty for post lol

I've played on many piano's and the only one I would compare with a Hamburg Steinway D is a top of the line Petrof. If I could have a well-prepped Steinway D I would die a happy man (and I'm majoring in Piano Performance).

 1931 Poul Henningsen Grand Piano.

Harm Goslink Cooper's homemade piano. Probably doesn't sound great, but it's just so sweet looking. Want to paint my piano keys like that.

I agree whole-hearted. Ever since hearing one, I have been in love. I had the pleasure of hearing one performed live locally once, and it brought tears to my eyes on how gorgeous the sound was.

It was also used in the Dustin 'O Halloran record, "Vorleben", which is a magnificent record featuring original compositions of maestro O'Halloran.
