Is there any way to modify an iPod to output the digital info from apple lossless files to a Benchmark Media DAC-1 D/A?

This is something that I'm exploring. I believe I can bring-out the I2S signals and put them on the docking connector of the iPod. Then this I2S bus can either drive the DAC-1 with I2S interface that I currently offer or the Pace-Car I2S reclocker driving an I2S-capable DAC. It may be that it needs to drive the Pace-Car since the jitter of the I2S bus will probably be high. The Pace-Car will eliminate this jitter. It will be a few months before I have anything ready for sale though. Too many projects going on.
