E-mu 0404 USB with Windows 2000?

I don't run XP on any of the computers I use, and unfortunately E-mu says that XP is required to use the 0404 USB. Has anyone gotten this to work with Windows 2000? I need very few features; just need it to send out sound.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure about 2000, but I can tell you that they wreck a 2003 installation. I contacted E-MU about this and got this rather unhelpful responce:

"This card is compatible with Windows® XP (SP 2 or greater) or Windows XP
x64 or Mac OS X (Beta), we will develop drivers for Vista. No other
system are or will be supported."

So with that in mind, I'd be very wary of buying the 0404 USB if you can't switch to XP should you need to.
