Haha modest list Aaron, you must move out to San Diego faster! If you aren't already there... wasn't sure of your time line.

I bought Ken's Cryo-mini interconnect with nothing to connect to, so I'm committed, or need to be.

Priority:
RSA Tomahawk

Secondary:
Red Wine Imod (hearing was believing)

Two months later (chip supply issues):
RSA SR-71
I listened to a hybrid cable Ken had a prototype of that was copper and silver in cotton and it sounded really really good. I compared it to my Silver Jumbo and a copper Jumbo and it was the best of both.

to be precise the WA5 was fed by a classy looking Denon player (didn't write down the model).
All other WA amps were connected to the Dac1. Actually while listening to them, I was wondering what role the Denon player had in making the WA5 sound so much fuller than the WA2.

I asked Jack the same thing and he said "It was a Denon 2560 Special Edition with modification."

I am going to be getting the Shure e420's asap!
I think they offered something I get at the Sensa level but something that would be cost effective enough to throw in the Jacuzzi this summer. the seal from the new black foam is seriously priceless..its on so hardcore!
though I may be able to cost out a set of 500's in the future also..hehe

Millet/ttvj amp is already ordered also..
I hear her with my sensa's and I think she will be great for the tubey love in the Jacuzzi this summer.

I really like the Meridian 808 and think its cost above the g08 is worth it..
to bad I dont have the money though.

Didnt listen to the Apache mostly cause I have a B52 already so..

the benchmark dac I won will also fit in my second rig nicely..really needed!

Short-medium term:
Ultrasone Edition 9 (possibly; whenever they become more easily available)

Whenever I need to use a small system more often:
Shure SE530 or Westone 3 (can't decide, even after listening to both for a while)
Headamp AE2

Very-long term:
Lavry DA2002 (assuming he doesn't come up with something even better before I can afford this)

I really liked the sound of that amp but was able to hear background noise on my ES2's. It was not really a hiss but more like a white noise, like a wind or airy sound. That gripe aside the amp sounded awesome and that thing had some serious power!

True, my last few main headphones have leaned to the side of clean, tight, punchy bass over big bass.

The reason I got excited about the Ed9 when I first heard it is that it has big bass, but it is still tight and punchy, even with fast material. Sloppy bass is the enemy My first though upon hearing the Ed9 was "shoot, this is almost like an L3000." True, the L3000 does have slightly more impressive bass, but it's also a lot more expensive and discontinued.

To date, I've not heard any headphone, other than those two, which could provide a very powerful bass without sounding overly bloated, flabby, sloppy, slow, etc. The Qualia in the right system has the best bass quality of any headphone I've heard, but simply due to frequency balance, it just doesn't quite reach the punch level of the aforementioned pair.

So I'm looking at the Ed9 to provide the "sick bass" as an alternative to the more open, airy W5000. I bought the W11 thinking they might have had a chance to do it, but I the Ed9 will give me a higher degree of contrast.
