Singlepower PPX slam, I didn't hear anything at the meet to make me change my mind.
Headroom desktop speaker rig. That was a real eye opener... talk about a complete 180 !!! No more mister anti-speaker for me. If I want imaging and separation I'm going for a small 2.1 speaker setup.

Well that's pretty much my plan of attack for after I complete my current in progress transactions... I figure within a 5 year time frame? I guess it is somewhat is in order of priority. Good thing I took out the ridiculous stuff or else I'd figure that I can't pull it off. Thankfully I am completely happy with my current set up so I really don't even have to look at anything in the mid to low range. Oh yeah, I need to buy some w5000 spare parts. Let's put that right before the SS1 (Or 2 or 3 depending on how many have been ordered by that point or if it'll require a name change like Neil's ES-2).

possibly the Single Power Square Wave - it's transportable and it's black! I was originally eyeing something else but who knew Single Power was going to release a solid-state? I love solid-states! And I haven't owned a Single Power amp yet!

I pretty much had my finalized rig going into the Meet, was only really missing a balanced DAC so I can go fully balanced without getting a different CDP. I didn't get to hear Iron_Dreamer's Aqvox but I don't need to, just looking at it confirmed that I wanted to buy one. It has the perfect form factor for stacking! And it's got sleek looks and it's black! Everything on my stack of components needs to be black!

I didn't listen to much gear. Never do at meets really.

I sure did like the Edition 9 and will probably end up with a pair some day. Also, after hearing Gene's pair of AH-5000, I'm glad that I already ordered a pair, and guess what? They're here in Florida! I'll have to give them a good listening session tomorrow evening when I get back to Cayman.

Yes, power conditioner.

It was a surprise to me that not many people brought their power conditioners to the meet. It will make huge difference to your system, since from cans you can hear every thing.

Well I love my Westone UM2's but I was floored by the quality of the entire new Shure SE line, and the top of the line Ultimate Ears, as well as the Westone 3. (and for the money, the Westone UM1).

As far as purchases, ummm, the greatest pressure on me right now is not to replace my UM2's but to find decent earphones at a low price for so many family and friends .... I purchased three Crossroads at the fest - the MB is bass heavy and my nephew loves them for rap music and gym (I kind of do too). The M3 are better balanced for classical, jazz, etc... My quandry is: do I give away my remaining two Crossroads and to who; do I try to order a bunch from "Uncle Wilson" in Asia. They were $45 each at the headfest with discount for multiple. I don't know of anything this good in that price range. No distributor yet in the "states".

If I give away my one remaining MB, then I'll probably by a UM1 for the gym :-)

ps: I've been determined to NOT get into small portable headphone amps - yet ANOTHER electronic box to carry around and worry about recharging - but the Mini-E sounded really, really great at the conference.

pps: Do we really have to wait another year?

ppps: Turnout was ok but less than I expected. I think this event calls for increased advertising. Maybe some of us next year can spread the word via other forums like Audiogon?

I bought Ken's Cryo-mini interconnect with nothing to connect to, so I'm committed, or need to be.

Priority:

Red Wine Imod (hearing was believing)

My list is short:

1. I got molds taken of my ears for custom ear pieces for my UM2. They should be ready in 2 or 3 weeks as I remember.

2. Today I ordered some Yuin PK2's from Fang. These sounded pretty good at the show and I'll be using them in the gym during workout time so they should work just right for that.

I have both a Singlepower Extreme Platinum and a Headamp AE-2 due to arrive before the end of May so I wasn't tempted much by the amplifiers. I got off pretty easy!
