I am surprised there aren't more MI folks coming to the meet, its only like little over 3 hr driving O_o

Question: is this a member only meet?? Can I bring my wife?
yeah, wives are invited. I tried to convince mine to come to keep me company on the 3hr drive there, but she declined. oh well... I don't blame her... she doesn't get into headphones that much anyway.

For those unfamiliar with Koss A250 here is a mini review http://www.goodcans.com/HeadphoneReviews/kossa250.htm

Just a thought, don't know if its gonna work.

9am-8pm
there will be security there right? I'm just wondering about leaving gear semi-unattended... for grabbing lunch and stuff

Oh, and I'll be selling:

LDII+ w/ extra tubes for rolling.
and either my Beresford or my Zhaolu 1.3 DAC. I haven't decided yet... but I don't need 2
I also might be willing to part with my MisterX XP if I find something in the portable realm I really like.

I'll also be able to take orders for cables, I probably won't have many on hand I could sell, but I will be giving a few away as door prizes

no longer attending the event due to personal reasons. Anyone selling 10k pots PM me so I can pick them up locally...or PM me a store.

Received rare permission from Library

If anyone coming to the meet has a special request to listen to a particular album or CD, the Library has granted a rare exception to the rule that the Reference Library CDs and Vinyl are not allowed out of their listening room. We can use a number of them for the meet. I have guaranteed they will not leave the library and that they will be returned in the same condition as we receive them. They have a wonderful collection (especially classical vinyl) and you might be surprised to find an old favorite (or a new one). We have one of the largest Library collections in North America. Obviously can't be sure they'll have it but I'll get it if they do. Any requests?

Jacob, I got your PM but figured it would be better to answer your security questions in the main thread.

YES - There is security at the meet and I have paid to extend their services beyond 6pm to ensure their support through to 8pm. As far as the security presence itself, I doubt they'll be in the room with us but I will ask if a guard is expected to be posted at the entrance of the auditorium.

Added John Holt - 1000 Volts of Holt to the Vinyl list.

Tony - That is very cool. I'd love to hear some David Bowie on Vinyl... if I get a choice, either Heroes or Hunky Dory [or both]. Any chance we can browse their music at some point?

I have the new Glenn Gould Zenth Reperformance hybrid CD, which I'll gladly bring.

I'll bring some vinyls with my TTs. Some David Bowie if you want and also some Cold Play if some are interested. I'll also bring some U2, Pink Floyd, Styx, Beatles (if interested), maybe some Iron Maiden (if you ask).

Let me know here what you are interested in. I also have some sweet classic and techno (David Getta, etc.)

Laurent, I have first edition Beatles from before Revolver on to Let it Be, plus Meddle, The Wall and DSOTM for Floyd. I've also got War by U2 so I wouldn't worry about lugging all those LPs down from Montreal.

Suddenly my load has gotten much heavier!

[EDIT] I have a decent collection of Eric Burdon/War records as well, but they're dirty and well loved. If there are any fellow Burdon fanatics I will happily bring them along.

Hi, I just checked and they don't have any Bowie on Vinyl. As mentioned their Classical is pretty comprehensive.Quite a bit of Jazz too. As I don't have a TT anymore I haven't browsed their vinyl. It's pretty hit and miss with popular music.

I hope this link works. It's to the entire system so what you are looking for is stuff at the Toronto Reference Library. The point of asking for access to their music at the Reference Library was pretty much to get stuff that is in good shape as it doesn't ever leave the library and is only listened to under supervision(hence the exception for us). As we are going to be there all day it won't be hard to get anything they do have. Searching the database is easy and I have permission to take several items at a time on rotation. I don't mind at all getting what anyone wants if it's there.
They have the Bowie singles collection (69-93) CD if you are interested. (Very long answer of yes you will be able to browse the collection when you are there, I just have to access the recordings wanted.)
See you there, Tony

Looks like you got what you asked for anyway! Maybe this will inspire more people to bring requested vinyl?

If they have any of Nicolo Paganini's Violin Concertos on Vinyl, that would be a treat.

Thanks again for setting this up.

Oh, I want.

I'm on a huge Bowie kick recently for some reason. Anything by the Talking Heads or Brian Eno would be cool too.

The Vinyl I will be bringing is as follows:
Royksopp - The Understanding
The Postal Service - Give Up
Depeche Mode - Catching Up With Depeche Mode
M83 - Don's Save Us From The Flames [single]
The Cure - The Love Cats [single]

Basically, just the two records I own and three I am borrowing from my Wife.

I am half looking forward to getting in to vinyl and half dreading it.

I can bring some Bob Marley, The Police and 2 of my favorite bands, Refused and At The Drive-In.
