They asked me for my opinion about that and what I said was that an estat would be lovely, but what was really needed was a flagship dynamic can to go with all those killer multi-kilobuck dynamic headphone amps out there. There is still a bit of cognative dissonance when you buy a $3000 headphone amp and run $500 cans on it. We need a very expensive and versitile (meaning modularly cabled) ultra-high performance dynamic can. I have no idea how seriously they took my comments though.

Thanks for the info Tyll. I hope the next flagship model combines the HD600 with the 650's charctaristics. If they could have the detail of the 600's and the lows of the 650's...that would be perfect!

Itd be stagnant. The detail of the HD600 and the lows of the HD650 is the HD650 imho.

But of course Senn are going to have another top end headphone eventually. No company sits on their arses for that long without plans.

they should come out with the HD-812..
that would be the best highend name one can give to a headphone..

and maybe even a Jacuzzi proof "panache" edition of the HD-812

I don't think AKGk701s have the same bass, and darkness of the HD650s, infact its lows are even worst then HD600s.

Let's not go there in this thread - my comment would be that it 1) depends on the system and that 2) the 650s have nasty bass unless used with a nice balanced amp - and then someone would counter that, and this thread would degrade into the same old off topic chaos.
