I have a low hours BPS evo iii I bought used. I have mounted it in two headshells I have used before that I know work. The right channel of the Sumiko goes out now and then in odd ways. Several times I have played a disc and come back later that day or the next day, put on a disc and the right side is gone. I take the shell out of the bayonet mount, put it back, and the right side comes back to life. I know the head shell is fine. And I have another cart. mounted in a different shell where this problem never happens. So I don't think it is the mount on the arm side or any wiring downstream.
Why this short occurs when the cart. just sits there I don't know. I have also tried two different sets of leads, both with tight fitting clips, with no change in this pattern.
All suggestions appreciated.
