Just out of interest, who owns the Zanden? It looks spectacular, and that would be an understatement.

hi folks everyone is breaking stuff down - which is the perfect time to get in some quality K1000 listening time! SRV blasting "Texas Flood" on the Transporter to the FirstWatt F1 to the K1000s. Kickass. Not much to add to that, eh? typing this from Tyrion's laptop as we speak - couldn't bother stopping the Blues for this post!

I spent a lot of time with this amp using my K1000 and HD-600 and loved it. So much so that I may be ordering one shortly . I'm in a car doing this from my phone so I will try to post more tomorrow.

Got a chance to listen to the Moth 300B and K1000 and thought it was great. Unfortunately, i forgot to listen to the Zanden... I must say K1000s and 300B are magic.

The Zanden sounded fantastic - I was floored by it, just awesome with the K1000s and the CDP source driving it. Thanks to those who brought in such incredible equipment, and to everyone involved running the K1000 room, I really appreciated it!

Well most Zanden are msrp'd at 15k, but foo_me's Zanden which he got used was msrp'd at 34k thanks to it having a platinum chassis. Luckily he got it for 6k from a local buyer.

Wow...that's expensive stuff this Zanden....that's great Tyrion......I ordered my Woo5 a few weeks ago in anticipation of the Woo5 wowing them at the meet and, knowing that the K1000's seem to like the 300B tube. As it turns out, Jack Woo told me I was the first consumer to order one, so I have the very first one!! Will post here on how it sounds etc after I get it in and spend some time with it.

The F1 you guys heard at the K1000 room was mine, so I'd be really interested in some more detailed comparison between it and the top-dogs, if possible, since I couldn't be there myself.

Well, the F1 sounded good, but I can't really go into details about the Moth since I didn't spend that much time with it (Thankfully Voltron is local if that ever needs changing), but it did sound a bit more clear to me with better sound stage. Mmm resolving.

The Zanden though was ridiculous. The decay especially was so perfect that where I thought my Qualias were the master of decay... yeah well turns out K1000s through the Zanden kind of have them beat by a little bit I think. This is of course through the inferior to my ears Blue Dragon cable (I feel the Black Dragon cable is obviously superior even listening through single end). The bass while still light was quite obviously the most superior as well. Ping of AAA Audio felt that the highs were a bit overbright as he has found highs to be in reality i.e. the jarring sound of high piano notes/violin. This is in fact to him a good thing as it represents reality since other amps will gloss over this jarring brightness with warmth... Yeah its nuts that Zanden.
