Lol! I asked MisterX and he told me he didn't want to give me a biased opinion... MisterX recommends the OPA2227/227 for the Pimeta and he didn't say anything about the XP. He said the LM6172 lasts around 20 hours and the AD8397 lasts around 6 hours. I don't think I'll be using the amp for 6 hours straight... so battery life isn't really really really important unless it was like 2 hours.

keep in mind that since its a DIY build, the pimenta can look completely different from build to build.

The AD8397 (which I tried in my supermacro) has very punchy bass. The LM6172, which I have in my XP, has a little more laid back sound. But since theyre in different amps, its a completely worthless opinion

and I think you're at the point where you should just flip a coin. Heads for the XP, tails for the pimenta

i would personally go with the PIMETA. The PIMETA's output stage buffers are more flexible. You can change it to discreet or IC any time you want.

The XP is probably something similar to the PINT (can someone please verify this?)

EDIT: PPAS is fine too

No, I met Fang (Nankai) at a mini meet and I lent him my supermacro and in return he sent me a pair of PK-3s to try out. I got it before everybody else!!! I think for you, you have to wait for the group buy.
