I was going to recommend you post in the correct forum concerning the headphones and ipod, but maybe its better all your questions stay in this thread. It would do the forum a favour.

As far as your rockbox question, i think it depends on the build you use

just so you know. i dont think grados burn in a lot (well mine didnt except for the first 50 hors or so) I think its just getting used to the sound

and if theyre so good, why do you need an amp

I've burned mine in for over 20 hours now. They haven't opened up yet. I did the basshead mod It made it bassier, but maybe too bassy. And I have no idea why I would want an amp, but, I may get higher end cans in the future!

I found my SR125 and RS1 did benefit from 150 to 200 hours of burn in.

dont mean to make you any more indecisive but Xin just came out with the Reference amp which is a supped up supermicro in a much better looking metal case.

To be honest I don't think you really do need an amp with 225's. most of the time I am listening to them straight out of my computer or out of my ipod with great results.Although, a good tube amp can help you tailor the sound a little more(more bass...etc).
