The Misfits of the National Meet: Team Florida Transplanted

So it has come to my attention that Florida boys Tyrion, Agile_One and JP11801 are somewhere in San Francisco significantly impaired and causing all varieties of mischief. The breaking news alert just hit my office at Tampa central, where I'm tracking their activities and those of local authorities. So far they have evaded the attention of the cops but a few large men in security shirts have apparently thrown some dirty looks their way. It is only a matter of time before someone in San Jose is called to post bail.

This thread will exist to give the nation an alternate view of the National Meet. One that may be ugly and will most certainly be rude. I apologize for my statesmen and whatever damage they may leave on the lovely state of CA. Expect full details and investigative reports in the coming days.

It's true. After a seemingly innocent beginning in which the trio sampled an assortment of teas early in the day, a series of increasing incoherent phone calls transpired to their home base in Florida. Lost in new environs, were they seeking comfort, encouragment, words of widsom? No, they wanted to order me a falafel sandwich and report that they were in fact really lost. It seems that having once found their way to the ocean, they could not find a way back. Yet, the ever resourceful agile_one, tyrion, and jp11801 discovered hitchhiking on the back of pick up trucks can still be done in the state of California. I'm told pictures will follow.

In fairness, jp11801 was not lost, but for all practical purposes, that fact is irrelevant. Although the next call lasted 52 minutes according to my cell phone, I cannot repeat what was said. I do recall numerous mentions of stunning peaks and valleys, though all viewing took place inside a restaurant. Gene is now a Catholic priest. Mike is now a vegetarian. John has a preference for peaks. Disparaging remarks were also made about Wayne and his absence from Team Florida's California debut (perhaps a wise choice on Santa's part).

The boys are now not answering their phones. Could be a bit worrisome. Good thing the K1000 room will be a silent room to which they can repair tomorrow.

As the official meet thread starter for Florida I have deemed this gathering a chance for Florida meet credits. These three gentlemen in question are particularly concerned with who holds the highest meet attendance number, with Wayne being the actual highest ranked member (he has a house in Hollywood, FL and so no points are removed for not being an actual resident). Anyone who has the opportunity to party with Mike, Gene, John & Wayne outside of the prescribed National Meet parameters will be blessed with official Florida meet experience, despite the fact that you're not in Florida.

Another call. San Francisco is spared. They are on their way to Oakland now. Two of the three are standing as of the last report, and all three are capable of some form of speech. I'm relieved and going off to sleep, oddly so I can report to my job at a drug and alcohol rehab in the morning.

At last word Wayne has not yet joined the official Florida festivities! This is putting him in grave danger of losing his status as king of the hill down here. If in fact he fails to show up and have a beer we will not only not give him credit for this meet, he will go -1. This would I believe put Tyrion and Agile_one tied for first place, but the records will need to be verified.

Our boys plus Immtbiker are down by the pool, sitting in the rain and smoking cigars. When I talked to them nobody sounded incoherent yet but the night is young. When the phone got handed round to Aaron he called me Valium breath or something like that, he thought it was Stevieo. Apparently my voice has aged about 92 years .

Can barely type, but can assure all that it will surely end badly.

The Florida posse has expanded to include honorary members immtbiker, bozebuttons, Romanee, and many random members and bystanders like moths drawn to a fire, but most leave when they see how bright the flames actually are.

So far no arrests, angry husbands, or security guards quick enough to catch up with us, but our speed diminishes as the evening wears on. I advise all to just ignore this thread, as it will be all downhill from here.

I only wish I could post the pics. It's 2:45 and most of us are still going strong, led by the leadership of agile_one who is giving the expression "slurring your words" a new meaning. I have to be honest, there are a couple that have disappointed us and went to sleep *cough* immtbiker *cough*. agile_one is going strong but we do have a defibraltor at the ready.

When I left at around 3:30 even Tyll had gone to bed and Team Florida was competing for last-man-standing status with Team Shure and Voltron. Hard to say who was winning. Hard to say for that matter what constitutes winning at this point.

I didn't see any video cameras, but I do have some stills of Tyll demonstrating his ballet dancer heritage.
