Official HeadFest 2007 Video Thread - Page 2

Just a little status update...

I re-named this thread to call it the official video thread. So anyone with video footage from the meet, please feel free to post URL links (youtube...etc...) here in this thread.

I wanted to retain the first few posts of this thread. IMHO it kind of gives a little background on how the video thing all came about. Neither Utep10 or I were really prepared to do any "official" filming for the forum. In fact, it wasn't even mentioned at (least to me) until a day before the meet.

A total last minute thing.

I'm looking at a total of 5 videos. 3 videos will be shorter, ~5 minute preview types set to music. The theme music will be 3 categories, Metal, Texas Blues and Jazz my 3 favorite categories of music.

The remaining 2 vids will be longer... Day 1 and Day 2... Basically, me just surfing the floor looking at gear and talking to vendors, these are more detail-oriented where you all will get in touch with the sights, sounds and the smells of a live head-fi Meet.

I just finished capturing all the video scenes onto my HD from my camera. I've got probably ~50 or so, "scenes" on my HD. Theres a Tyll scene, a TTVJ Scene, a Jude scene...etc...

Its now a matter of storyboarding all the scenes to make them into a cohesive presentation. And then on to the editing phase...

Phwew!!

Expect to see the previews up in a few days. Believe it or not, the hardest part is picking the theme music from my collection.

A big round of applause for Bruce and Garrett! We really appreciate all you're doing to make the videos happen. I can't wait to check 'em out!

Video snippets of Saturday Night

This does not really qualify as Official Video Thread material, but here is something to whet your appetites:

Tyll's Ballet Dancer Walk

Guess the Punchline

What does Tyll say after "And Wayne goes..." ?

Yeah this isn't easy but it's fun. It took me a while last year because I did it in high definition.

Last year I had a few people seed it on bittorrent. My videos were widescreen and high definition so it would've never looked "good" on youtube but you can put it a low-fi version on youtube. I made MPEG4 and WMV versions. Maybe somebody can step up to the plate and we can bittorrent also this year.

Tyll: "And Wayne goes, 'What!? You posted that?'"

How does this work? I guess I'll have to check this out as well.

I did post a few parts of the Amp Builders Panel Discussion on Youtube but trying to get a reasonable amount of video on each part is at the expense of video quality.

Here is part 1. I have 3 parts on Youtube right now.

Sorry for the crappy audio on this but hopefully it is somewhat coherent.
I'll add a few more parts tonight. Hopefully all of it by Friday.

The Steve Hoffman stuff came out much better.
