Help: Taking CalTrain to Meet from San Francisco, Need Help in which Station to Exit

I have to take CalTrain down to the Head-Fi meet. Can someone tell me the most efficient way to get close to the meet via CalTrain?

ie: Should I get off at a CalTrain station near San Jose airport, then take a shuttle to Radisson Hotel to the meet, or is there a more efficient way?

(or, if there is a better way than CalTrains that you know of to get from downtown San Francisco to the meet on Saturday morning, please let me know).

My question exactly

You can find a fairly clear answer by using CalTrain's trip planner online. The shortest time I was able to coax was 2 hours, ten minutes from downtown.

I'm sure you won't mind my hijacking the thread, but maybe some other Head-Fi'eri is also going on the morning of April 21? Personally, I could take the train back myself, and would be willing to chip in on the gas.

Santa Clara/Benton st

I just looked at a valley transit map and it looks like you should get off at the Santa Clara station and catch a shuttle to N. 1st st and I think its a short walk, 3 blocks to 4th st. and you almost there.
www.vta.org It looks like the shuttle will have a gizillion stops in the airport, but after caltrains, you'll be used to it. (Actually, the train's not that bad )

San Francisco

I might be renting a car to drive down from San Francisco on Saturday if someone wants a ride. I have to work on Sunday so I am not staying the night and I don't want to have to leave at any particular time to take the train (plus I gave up my car last year and I really miss driving.) I should know by Friday if I am going to rent a car and I will post again then.

There's a VTA Light Rail station at 1st & Gish, just four blocks from the hotel (which is 1/2 block north of Gish on 4th).

You can take Caltrain to the Mtn. View station, then hop light rail and get off at 1st & Gish. According to the online schedules, that should take just under 2 hours coming from San Francisco.

Renting a car

So I am renting a car tomorrow and picking it up at 10:30am in downtown San Francisco. I am only staying for the day but if anyone in town would like a ride down let me know by midnight tonight.
