IEMs that sound similar to the KSC75

I have tried the Etymotic er6is, Shure e2s and e500s, JVC Marshmallows, Creative ep-630, Vmoda Vibes and Vsonic R-02s. I didnt like them as much as I liked the Koss ksc75s. I really like the Grado/Koss sound and I'm trying to find some IEMs that fit with that sound signature.

The detail of the e500s were much better and the bass was much cleaner then the 75s but the sound signature wasnt what I was looking (very senn-ish and dark) for and the er6is had much better accuracy across the frequency spectrum but still, the sound signature wasnt right (too little bass impact and not as good mids).

I'm satisfied with the smallish soundstage that they deliver, which is bigger then most IEMs, and their slightly harsh highs and the great bass impact and forward sound.

Please help me! I'm tired of listening the ksc75s in the library and getting dirty looks!

My guess would be ER4P but my actual experience doesn't go beyond E4, ER4P,ER6 and some not worth mentioning.

I can't believe that any IEM could equal the KSC75 brightness.

Yea, a less bright ksc75 version of an IEM would actually be better. I love my sr225s much more then my 75s, of course, but its mostly because of how much more smoother it is then the 75s.

Tried them. Too little detail and flabby bass. I guess its good for the price but ehh, not for me.

i'll have to give them a listen but I've tried and owned the er6i's (which are supposed to be 90% of the ER4s) and I didnt like them

The Ety is the closest you are going to get to the Grado/Koss sound. You could also check out the Shure SE-310, wich is a pretty nuetral IEM.

so we have come to the conclusion that IEMs only have bassy and neutral sounds... no treble emphasis on any IEMs... how strange

unless someone can think of a good example!

ugh I really need to try out the ER4S/Ps and since I have a Xin amp, it should be perfect (theoretically) but I need to hear it first! I have heard the er6is and I didnt really like it, so I'm not completely sold on the ER4S/Ps.

have you tried the d-jays? Those are supposedly supposed to be very good

also the AT CK7, those IEM's look very nice as well

I'm sure there's got to be some IEM that equals the ksc75 in term of brightness and sq

hmm I do like the AT sound from the phones I heard (AT w5000) and it was very grado-ish. I'll look into the d-jays as well but from what I read, I dont know if its detailed enough

I can suggest what I've done. The KSC75's are the second Headfi headphone I've bought. I love them. My first pair were the Sennheiser CX300, but they broke and forced me to go Koss.
After that, I felt I wanted isolation and tried V-moda Vibes, but they weren't airy at all (like people used to say) and they sounded too bassy: I sold them.

So, I'm a Koss sound lover, and now I've bought two different IEMs. The d-JAYS and the Etymotic ER-4P, and now I'm seeing they are the most adviced in this topic. Mine are being shipped.
I'll try them both and see what I will like more. Maybe I'll use the dJAYS for going out and the ER4P at home (they have microphonics). Otherwise I could sell the pair I like less. I'll see in the future.


EDIT: from what I've heard, the d-JAYS should be faster than the KSC75 and, so, more detailed. The Etys are said to be the most detailed IEMs, at all.
Beware, however, that d-JAYS and ER-4P don't sound similar.

I would vote for the super.fi sound. Definitely not Ety er6is...
