Oops! I dropped my headphones stories

I've always wondered how often other people drop their headphones. I myself am fairly careful, but drops have happened in the past.

I think to date I've only dropped my HD650s between 3-5x in the 3.5 years that I've owned them. No noticeable damage on the outside or change in sound... but you never know. I've actually dropped my Headroom Amp a couple times or rather people have tripped over cables plunging it to the ground. That sucks as well, but so far it has seemingly escaped with only dings to the exterior. However, a drop can't be good for the lifetime of an amp.

Generally what happens is that I'll trip over the cable while reaching for something or move to answer the phone/door. It sucks.

I haven't dropped my w5000s or Qualias at all. Perhaps I've learned from my past mistakes and will forever avoid another drop incident!

Anyway, any of you have any especially memorable drops? Or perhaps you've NEVER dropped a pair of headphones? Let us know!

Haven't dropped my precious amps or HD650s yet...but last week I fell asleep to music and woke up at 8AM and found my HD650s on the ground (but my floor is carpeted and its only a 3.5ft drop).

i dropped my headamp when it was still brand new and i havent even used it yet! (i was on the way to the office where it was meant to go and to plug it in for the first time)

the handle on the plastic bag i was using to carry it broke and it just dropped to the floor.

Well; I dropped my HD600s into my lap the one time that I allowed the 10 ft cable to drop to the floor under my feet while I was sitting at my computer chair. I tried to stand up and one side of the cable unplugged and the cans fell into my lap when I plopped ungracefully back down into the chair.

No damage.

....uh; my butt was sore for a while.

Then the kids dropped my MS-1s cable off their computer chair where the cable ended up getting tangled down below, and then gave the chair a spin. The cans then fell to the floor.

Ripped out big chunks of insulation between the "Y" block and the housings. Phones still work great though.

I HATE it when this happens!! The other day the phone rang and I got up from my chair a little too quickly, knocked my MS-1s to the ground and sent my iPod flying across the room

Oh Yeah! I took the cans back from the kids when they got new phones of their own. I have no guess as to how many times they've dropped their own cans, but I'll bet it's in the dozens!!

...there's a pair over there under the table now!!

I drop my phones all the time, so dropping phones usually does not make me "oops".

The situation that made me oops was...

I have these earphones that I bought back in 1988.
There is nothing fancy with that earphones, but it has huge sentimental value bacuse I bought it along with my old walkman style tape player for the first time in my life with the money I earned in the first time in my life by working at port construction site.

One day last year, my significant half said she got something to tell me.
She dropped my old walkman with my earphones while checking if that old thing is still working. She accidently stepped on them while she trying picking them up from the floor. Well... sh*t happened. I still have them in my drawer but they are not working any more.

dropped my brand new iMod on a carpeted floor.

Tripped over a cable, went flying and landed. Nothing happened to it, no thud heard. Probably not the best thing to say incase I plan to sell my iMod.

Haha.

Inexpensive Koss phones we found at Wal-Mart. they look almost like little versions of my MS2i, so they're relatively cool with them. They're actually pretty tough little cans. We bought them for them at Christmas, and I believe they are all still working over three months later!

They even came with an extra set of pads!

My K271S gets dropped from my nightstand on a regular basis. After about the tenth time I quit cussing about it.

I've dropped my KSC75's many (15+) times. They always tended to slip off my desk.

My SR60s have slipped off my desk twice, but not at all since I got my headphone stand

Luckily I have never dropped my cans, I am very carful with my cans/amps it would be a nightmare to drop them.
