Revisiting my E-MU 1616M and I'm soooo glad I took the plunge 4 years ago :) Still sounds every bit as good as the day I bought it! Gotta re-learn how to tweak it though :(

Funny you should ask. I own both cards and to my ears at least, the E-mu is better no question.

E-MU line is easily superior to regular X-Fi cards, one geared towards pro audio and the other to typical consumer. And forget about PC Card X-Fi as it's based on the most budget X-Fi version available.
