Firestone Audio Fubar II USB DAC
Grey faceplate. Great condition. Two LM4562 OP-AMPs installed.
This is an interest check / for sale. I'm not exactly sure if I want to sell this unit yet.
I am currently considering selling my Firestone Audio Fubar II USB DAC (grey faceplate). I have replaced the stock OPA2604 op-amp (which is mediocre) and the stock JRC072 op-amp (a horrible op-amp at best) with two LM4562 op-amps (clean, fast, a relatively new op-amp on the market with great specs, and one of the best ones out there). This upgrade gives a good boost to the performance of the Fubar II and brings it from something unspectacular to something decent. The LM4562 op-amps are $5.50 USD each and with handling ($5.00 USD) and shipping from Digikey, the upgrade comes to a little bit above $17 USD.
The Fubar II USB DAC retails new for $120.00 for the unit plus $26.30 shipping ($146.30 total) if you order directly from Firestone Audio. With the op-amp upgrades, a new unit would cost $163.30 USD.
Note that I do not have the original box nor the manual with me (they are back at home, and I'm currently at college), so those will not be included in the sale.
Included are:
- Fubar II USB DAC unit (grey face plate, great condition with no scratches, two LM4562 op-amps installed)
- Original RCA interconnects
- Original stock power adapter
I am asking for $SOLD for the package with shipping costs and PayPal fees already included if you're in the United States. If you're located in Canada, it will be $SOLDUSD plus shipping costs. If you're interested, please contact me by private message.
Current status: Interest confirmed; taking photos probably Monday afternoon
Important: I am accepting PMs now, but will be shipping the package on Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 at the earliest. My friend is currently borrowing the unit to test it out. Sorry for this incovenience!
