I'll be there on Saturday, April 21, 2007 and will give a fun musical lecture in the late afternoon, sponsored by TONE AUDIO magazine..

I'm excited to be attending my first Head-Fi convention.

Thanks Todd The Vinyl Junkie for sending me plane tickets and arranging my hotel room, etc. and Jeff Dorgay of Tone Audio!

I hope to see many of you there!!!

Todd, be sure you let me know exactly when (and where) I am speaking so I can tell the gang at my home Fourm!

Steve as a fan of your site, I'd love to see you stop by the AKG k1000 room and give some of the rigs there a spin.
Are you going to be speaking about mastering and some of the modern day ham fisted approaches to cd mastering?

Steve welcome to HeadFi, sorry about your wallet!

I assume this is the Steve's site Jpnums?

Edit: checking Steve's profile I confirmed it is the correct link.

I'll stop in, sure.

My lectures consist of mainly music. I play great stuff (that I mastered of course) from the Golden Age and tell interesting (hopefully) behind the scenes stories about the recording sessions. People seem to really dig it; I always get standing ovations. (That reminds me of the old joke: A tenor was singing an aria in Italy and the audience kept shouting "SING IT AGAIN" when he was finished. He was so flattered he sang it again. Same thing happened. After the fifth time he told them he couldn't possibly sing it again, he was tired. They told him that he will sing it again UNTIL HE GETS IT RIGHT!)

Steve, thanks, your work is really outstanding, listening to your mastering of Fragile right now. Anyone with a turntable really should own this. That reminds me I need to crank out a needle drop of this for the meet

(...in terrible impersonation of Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World...)

WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!! WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!

Steve, I am a huge fan of your work and all that you do with mastering quality recordings, which are some of my favorite to listen to. It's great to see you get involved with headphone fidelity, which has a way of bringing out the best in your work. If I had known you would be there to lecture, that would have been the clincher for me to come, and would have easily been worth the price of airfare and accomodations. Alas, I will not be present, but just wanted to say that your presence will surely be welcome, and hopefully good detailed notes will be taken for listeners such as myself to read over all the information that you shared. Thank you.

Hi, Steve!

Since, as we often say here, "It's all about the music." … Welcome to the Festival. Seems like your corner will be great fun.

EXCELLENT.

Glad to have you on board, I can't wait to hear the man responsible for my fave cut of Clapton going insane with the Bluesbreakers speak in person!

Geez, no kidding! Welcome Steve! I hope I can break away from our room to have a listen to your schpiel. I'm sure you're going to get a kick out of the great sounding rigs you'll hear. Thanks for your support.

+1

As if I was not pissed enough already that I cannot make it, this bomb had to be dropped.

::snaps fingers:: dang wedding season.

Among my most prized possessions are my DCC discs and LP's. Heh as much of a shot in the dark as it was I sent a few fan mail letters/emails to my favorite band saying you need to hire this guy because their last recording jobs made me Albeit unlikely but, if you master a 311 CD, that will make my whole decade.

You kids are in for a real treat in what I'm sure will be a standing room only session.

ok who's going to be the first geek to bring a disc to be signed by Steve?
