well, now I have actually voted Grado afterall... those fanboys will recommend a grado for anything:

My least favourite fanboyism is the one where a thread turns into a voting war between those recommending the HD650 and those recommending the K701. Often where I suspect most or many have not heard both.

K340 cult ('nough said)

K701 was hyped up pretty well for a while there

K501 "It's the best for jazz period! Who said this had no bass?!”

K1000 "If you don't like this headphone then you don't know what you're talking about and can never understand what enjoying music is even about." and "ERS paper makes my think that one is in Valhalla because their is so much fake detail it sounds like life."

Oh, and then there's Fitz touting the brand's old product line(s) like it was the second coming of Chris;,actually giving them away for free, spreading the goodness that is God's gift to Earth, "AKG."




Don't get me started on the Lossy/Lossless fanboys. Those guys go for blood man.

i couldnt agree more with this. its something ive noticed too. as long as the word rock and/ or metal is in there, everything else turns into EXACTLY what u wrote.

Yeah see, Beyerdynamic wasn't even ON the list. Obviously, this means they are by far the best brand and being a fanboy can't even remotely be a bad thing. In fact, I'd go so far as to say being a loyal Beyerdynamic fan makes you better than everyone else.

I think ety users are quite insufferable tbh. They overlook the flaws of their buds but focus on the fact that every other IEM lack the two main features of the etys.
I just ignore the grado fanboys and I don't notice them anymore.

sony+sennheiser+westone+ety rock but only for select models.
the rest are all crap. Everything is crap. My wallet is empty. crap crap crap.
It has to be crap.

I wanna be an alessandro fanboy out of principle but I can't find any grados/alessandros to test in the UK :'(

I think Beyer's not on there because unlike all the other brands, Beyer does everything okay and nothing great....but they have comfort going for them?

Newbie - I need a phone for for classical and it has to be comfortable.

Sad but true. I only recommend Grados for rock and metal when openness isnt an issue. I atleast TRY to read the posts before answering.

*edit* Grados have taken a noticeable lead though. Hmmm...
