I'm currently a bit strapped for money so I can't get the Corda HA-1 like I planned on or a headroom little.. (or even build a meta42) but I feel like my headphone listening can improve a lot with some crossfeed.. does anyone know where I can get plans to build just a plain crossfeed unit or if there are any out there? Thanks

First of all let me say this is one of my favourite BA driver earphones I have ever heard. That said, being a basshead, these didn't deliver in the bass department - I can't deny the fact...

I've had this card for quite a while now, and I have to say its a really nice card - a huge step-up to my on-board motherboard's audio. At first I do have to admit, it didn't feel like the D1...

You might check out the low-z version of cmoy's modified linkwitz crossfeed, described at www.headwize.com. It can drive headphones directly and hence can be added to any headphone system, with or without a separate dedicated amp. As mekznoplastik said, Tangent (www.tangentsoft.net) sells nice pcbs for this crossfeed circuit which makes building it easier. Total cost with enclosure could be between $20-$40 depending on the quality of parts you use.

My crossfeed board is good if you plan on using the high-Z version of the circuit. For the low-Z version, that requires larger capacitors, so you have to compromise on quality or get creative with mounting. I prefer the high-Z version of the modified Linkwitz circuit because it lets the amp drive the headphones directly, which gives the amp more control over the headphones. It will also work in any headphone system, not just with META42s. Oh, I suppose there are some wimpy sources that would balk at the lowish input impedance of the high-Z circuit, but I haven't had problems with this. If it's really a problem, scale the capacitors and resistors again, just as was done to go from the lo-Z to the hi-Z version in the first place. (I.e. 10X resistors, 1/10X capacitors.)
