Enlighten Me: SR60 or MS1?

Besides the obvious similarity of their looks, how do the two compare to each other? I've heard the SR60 and think it's good, but a bit less-detailed. However, i havent heard the MS1 yet. So, please enlighten me!

Yup; looks can be deceiving. Yeah, they both use comfy pads and each may have a 1/8" plug, but hey! The MS-1 doesn't have that nifty ID button!

There are a few other things hidden however. The MS-1 has a four wire cable while the SR-60 only has a three. The MS-1 may have a 1/8" plug, but it may also have a 1/4, it's optional! And the MS-1 uses the same copper in its' driver as the SR-125, and the MS-1 has a 2db better sensitivity rating than either.

I hear that the MS-1 is more neutral and a bit less fun then the SR-60, but I haven't heard SR-60 so I can't really respond to that part.

....wish I could!

I did do a search, and couldnt find any direct comparison. Most people compared the ms1 with the sr125, and some say the sr60 is less-detailed. But a full comparison of the two is not evident.

The sound.

The sound is addictive. It never does anything wrong. It's great for all kinds of music other than the big classical stuff. If you like to be on stage with the performers, or right there in the studio, they are a good set of cans.

They never try to offend the listener, but yet can rock with the best of them....within their price range. The bass is not for bassheads, but the base is still low enough and deep enough and accurate enough to give a natural presentation.

Yeah, nice phones.

But they can be addictive.

well, i'll chime in since I heard both the phones youre talking about

The MS-1 is more like a worse version of the 225s. The big difference between the MS-1s and the SR-60s is the piercing highs. The 60s have it, the MS-1s dont. Also, the MS-1s have slightly more detail and soundstage then the 60s and its a lot lot lot more smoother.

The MS-1s are a good buy for most types of music, especially for acoustic rock. Or you can jump straight to the 225s!

I wouldn't go that far, sound is subjective, but specs aren't
