the big button says "Monitor"... a PTH device? This kind of in-ear buds doesn't isolate as much as the inner-ear ones so it might be something else?

ATH + Sony!!

Seeing what Matsu****a have accomplished in digital photography in a very short time (basically passing Sony from a position way behind) don't count them out. They made their progress in photography by focusing on image stabilisation and getting it right. Maybe in headphones - judging from these releases - it will be noise reduction.

Taking the analogy further, neither Pansonic nor Sony are really competing with Canon at the digital photography high end and I doubt that Pansonic's headphones will be up there with the audio greats either. I just think that they're worth watching at the copnsumer mid-range of the market - because they might get very good if that's a new focus. 16 new models, eh? It just might be.

Hmm, perhaps. But Matsu****a has been making hundreds of low-fi to mid-fi headphones for many years and they've never been particularly noteworthy. We'll see.

Their photography rocks. At least now it does.
