I just got my pair of senn 280 pros today, they sound good with the highs and mids, but they are lacking in the bass area.

how would these two compare to the sennheiser 280 pros?

Beyer DT250-80
Beyer DT770

thanks

dt770 - as much bass as you'd ever need, and then some.

the source will be the headphone source on the logitech z-560 speakers for my computer and a pcdp soon i am planning to get a meta42 from jmt to drive the cans

i know that the bass from the 770's is good but how is the other sound quality, the mids, and highs?

wait a minute i just looked at the isolation on the 770 page at headphone.com and it lists it at 0.00 the isolation for the 280's is 23.00 do the beyers not isolate at all?

raider,

try connecting them up to a receiver instead of the computer. the bass should magically appear.

hmm i tried that, but since i am going to be having these for a while, woulnt it be a safe bet to say that the beyer 770's are better phones as far a the sound as well as the bass, mids and highs?
I wouldn't right off the 280's just yet. Things will get much better with breakin but I found they can take up to 100 hours before the reach their best sound.

Sony R10's Only $4000.00 US.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Well for good closed headphones there are also the Audio Technica A900, A1000 or W1000's.

i cant find a place that sells them online,

arent the beyers just as good or better. i want something that will sound good with pop/rock and then when i put on some rap then i want some good bass, do such phones exist?
I haven't heard them but from descriptions the 770's are probably a good bet for those requirements. As an alternative the Audio Technica's can be found from Audio Cubes. My general impressions from reading reviews online would be that the 770's would have the most bass but the AT cans wouldn't be too far behind. The AT's might be a bit brighter and less dark sounding than the Beyer's. Again this is just speculation from what I've read so take it with a grain of salt.

what do you mean darker sounding?
How did I know you were going to ask that. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but here goes.

From the impressions I get, the AT headphones I listed are brighter and more forward whereas the highs are a bit recessed on the 770's, some say they are a bit bass heavy as well, thus a "darker" sound. I would say it would come down to preference.
