Hey folks,

A giveaway to celebrate... uh... Spring?

I had pondered opening this up to my fellow countrymen as well, but the reality of it is Europeans make Canadian prices look like a steal.

*Please - leave any Grado gripes at the door. I'm only here to spread the love.*

At any rate, I have decided to forego the contest idea and instead just hold a raffle. Shipping will be via standard parcel airmail. Here are the rules (the ticket to entry, so to speak):

1) You must live in Europe. No other restrictions.

2) You must be able to demonstrate a legitimate desire to own a Grado. Write a short blurb about why you'd like this headphone.

3) I don't want these popping up on the FS forums for a quick buck. I ask that if the winner decides the headphone is not what they expected, please pass it on to another Head-Fier.

4) The prize is one Grado SR60 and a custom silver cable from cantsleep, ready to be installed. I am the second owner and they are in good condition, although one of the rod caps is missing and the other one is loose. One of the cables at the Y-splitter has the common "squashed" look. They come standard with comfy pads and are in perfect sonic condition.

And that's it. Half-@$$ed write ups will be disregarded - I want to see a legitimate desire to hear these things. Whether I accept or deny your entry is completely up to me. The raffle will close on SATURDAY, MARCH 31st at 12:00pm EST and the draw will take place in the afternoon.

Awesome. So many kind head-fi members.

I've always wanted to try out a Grado headphone, but I never got around to it due to the price over here for them. I recently sold my HD595's (Well, actually that's still pending, but the echeque should clear tomorrow) and could do with a good pair of rock/metal cans. Also, another reason I wanted, but could never warrant the purchase of a pair of Grado's is that they are only good for rock and metal music, meaning I'd need two pair of cans to cover all my genres. If I win these I'll be able to use the Grado's for rock and metal and my future cans for my other genres.

I wish I lived in the EU... would like to try that Grado taste. Mabey next year when I'm done with my home set up.

I think I'm the only one who has had an actual quad-post, his are at seperate times vs mine that were all at the same min.

I'd like to be entered for the raffle please. Reasons why?

1) I've never heard the SR60
2) I've never owned a Grado
3) Never won anything before ^_^

Would like to hear how they sound. If they are not my type of sound, I'll happily pass them on to another head-fier.

I don't know how to begin. I own a pair of Sennheiser HD-595. I am very glad with them. I had to wait for long til I got the money for them. Not all of us have a big wallet to spend. After some time I've noticed that the most of the music I listen to is some kind of acoustic. My Senns make me quite happy but I miss to be IN the stage instead of sitting in the 3rd row. You know what I mean. It happens during these listening sessions, when you reach the climax, the Nirvana. I never owned a Grado before, nor listened to them before, but as I don't use to post many times, I read a lot. I have always felt great curiosity about this so called 'Grado' sound, and felt in love with the retro look. At last, yesterday I decided to buy a new pair of SR-60 and ordered them to Todd the Vinyl Junkie. Today he emailed me to tell me that he can't sell outside the US (No joke, you can check the thread I posted today). Here I am sitting by the computer looking for somewhere selling Grado in Europe. At least, twice the price. Great news. Grados will have to wait. Then a nice Head-fier told me in my thread about this raffle. And here I am explaining how I wish a SR-60 Headphones:
Sometimes it's not enough seeing how someone plays a great acoustic guitar solo. Sometimes, you want to FEEL like you're playing it.

I want to know if everything I've read about these Grados is true.

1 - I live in Enland
2 - I only have Sennheiser openback headphones.
3 - Started to listening to more and more rock last few years
4 - The cost here keeps me from getting them
5 - Would love to know how they sound with my new music

That simple really, I love to be a fan but never experience them.
