Fortunately there is supposed to be free connectivity in the guest rooms at the hotel. But users in the common areas like the meeting/ballrooms where we're holding the event do pay a fee.
We really wanted to provide full service for the meet, but it truly was prohibitive. If an event such as ours wants connectivity, it pays an even bigger per-user fee than individual users do. Open all-access connectivity for everyone attending the Meet would incur the biggest fee of all, and it was
huge.
Thanks to Grahame we will be building a **non-Internet** local WiFi network so that Squeezeboxes and such have a common SSID to connect to. But we're not going to be bridging it to the Internet.
