to defend myself. my friend has a fubar II DAC. i compared my TBAAM to his fubar if you really went stalker style and looked through ALL my posts. this is kind of disturbing. honestly, i didn't need you to go through all my posts and then question my credibility.

I tink that is a bit insane, are you sure the $30 TBAAM beats the $120 Firestone? If it is i will definitely get the TBAAM.

I've had instances where a post gave me a sense of deja vu and I had to look thru their previous posts to see what brought it on. So...just saying kvant may have something like that happen to him when he read your fubar vs tbaam comment.

Btw, noob comment I know...but what is a TBAAM?

to my ears the TBAAM sounded better to me than the Fubar. that is just to my ears.

How powerful are the Firestone Cute amps?

I have the Little Country - it sounds great, but is weaker than a CMOY, which is a little frustrating considering how much I paid for it!

More powerful than a LC, if that is what you want to know (Max. current @ 90mA vs. 800mA).

In simple term, LS is not designed for high impedance 'phone.

My Fubar II arrived today. I can give it a very positive review.

I'm just running it through a CMOY into some mid-range Sennheisers, but there's a definite, noticeable improvement in clarity and low end compared to the Audigy2 that I was using previously.

Now I need some new headphones. Then an amp. Heh.

congrats! I love my Fubar as well. I also love that you can mod it later on if you please.

As for the amp part. I just went with both amp and DAC from Firestone... for now... The cute encore amp gave this really warm quality to my Sony EX90s. I almost parted with them but decided to keep them after that.

my Fubar II is on its way back to Singapore as we speak... need to claim warranty for it...

theres ALOT of crackling noise coming from it....sometimes it just cuts off the music and immediately replaced by LOUD static noise.

i tried replacing the opamps with those originally from the Cute Battery II (OPA22777PA and JRC5021G) the cut off thingy was gone but the crackling was still there. and it actually sounded better when i changed the opamps :P

i hope this gets fixed asap....currently running off the A2ZS and some DIY bootleg Canare cable with low quality connectors...

dammit i miss it already
