When looking for a new pair of headphones i stumbeled across head-fi i must say after reading four days fascinated by the review and sheer range of companies id never heard of i opted for my first set of headphones above £20. My grado sr 225's arrived today and have to say im amazed by the sound quality, im hearing instruments and sounds i never knew existed in my music . Just like to say thanks to all the guys (and girls) on this forum for having such an excellent forum and fantastic community, but.... its your fault im hooked now

Anyway many thanks guys, youve made my ears happy

Welcome to Head-Fi!
Enjoy the Grado headphones, and for your wallets sake don't look any further...

And you are probably think that the "sorry about your wallet" comments are a joke.... That's what they said to me when I arrived and I already had the Total Bithead which I had just purchased, my classic Sony D77s and iTunes. I was set!

...4 months and about $1,000 later...

So.... Sorry about your wallet.

So they can finally be later set with something of grail-like quality =] At least thats how I feel right now and did not feel yesterday.

Where did you buy your Grado's?

Damn, shame you weren't closer I'd love to have a listen to them!

Enjoy your headphones, SR225's are one of the best choices you can make.

Definitely run away from these forums now!!! Just make sure to pickup a tube amp and a nice vinyl setup first

Welcome, great choice of headphones and have you considered an amp? A nice valve amp goes nicely with Grados.

Lol yeah im considering an amp but just need the money first, To be honest improving my source is my main aim first, a crappy creative live card just doesnt do them justice. I listened to them on my dad's cd player and theyre tons better than through my pc. also been a student doesnt help, but is there a big sound difference between unamped and amped? And to answer your question Cid theyre off ebay, used for a few months the person thought they were uncomfortable, personally i think theyre fine even when listening for long periods
