I'm betting he can find a job at a place close by the school and use the transportation he's already using right now?

It seems kind of ridiculous that your parents won't even drive you to work, and won't help you buy a car either. It's not like they're driving you to the bar each night, you're trying to earn some money for christ sakes! A lot of parents drive their kids to karate or soccer a couple times a week, and yours won't even give you a lift to work?
1. This is in the middle of no where, in ohio... If you can find me any type of public transportation running, ill pay you.

2. Parents leave for work at 6, I'm not awake by then, and school starts at 7:40. Even if I were to leave an hour and forty minutes early, Iwould have to sit outside.

The thing I am most amazed at, is that my best friend, who moved here 3 years ago, is blowing me off. He moved, was new, and I'm pretty much the only true friend he has. Now,in my time of need, how doesnt give a ****

Not to mention, pretty much everyone I know, has 4 seats in their car, but are too much of ******** to even consider me. Hell, I was able to drive my dads car to school one day, I gave three people rides home, no questions asked. Apperently, this is what I get in return.

Talk about friends.

I had to persuade my parents here to give me money to fix the car, instead of buying a new one. They seem to detest any amount of money that goes to my other set of parents, its stupid.
You know what's stupid? Crying about it on a forum. It won't help you at all. Seriously, why can't you just work and buy your own things instead? No offense.

When I'm critical of your parents here, I'm not saying they should plunk down cash they most likely don't have to buy you a car, and it doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for anyway. What I do think is that there are solutions here to make this happen, and they're too busy acting like children to work this out.

What you guys need to talk about - how much a car really costs to maintain. What kind of car you need to be looking for, the ratio of safety and reliablity compared to cost, and they need to be helping you on the path of this tough decision. They should NOT have you out there buying a deathtrap. You need to talk about your own expectations, why you want a car, and what your goals are. If buying a car isn't possible, some kind of schedule needs to be worked out for paying for what you use, and having the time to use it. Fixing up the Ford needs to be explored, and honestly talked about, and that doesn't mean dad saying "I don't give a fark, you want it, you pay for this!" No, this needs to be discussed in an honest and mature manner.

I think you know this already, but someone has got to be the grown-up.

You know what else is stupid? People who can't read.

On the phone -

"Yes, I'm interested in this job..."

"Great, we have this time open for an interview..."

"Oh sorry, I can't get there."

I have the same question. And exactly how many miles are you from shopping centers and such where you could conceivably work?

Also, your parents are unreasonable, none of your friends are helping you out, no jobs anywhere. I get the impression there's a lot about you and your relationships that you're not sharing in these posts. There's a lot of entitlement vibes from your posts.

Can you find a paper route? Can you mow lawns? I find it hard to believe there's absolutely nothing you can do, unless you're really in the middle of nowhere. If that's the case, focus on school, move when you're 18, and get a job and car then.

Dude, READ!

You know what else is useless? Posting about something that you know nothing about. I'll be sure to take your awsome life changing advice, considering I made this thread in the hopes that someone had a viable means of somehow getting me some form of transportation. Maybe if you were in my postition, hell, not even that, just read you idiot. No offense

@PNE.

One of my friends usually picks me up on the way to school, however, he does not take me home. I doubt he will stick around and give me rides to say, work.

Before anyone else tries to make their e-penis bigger in this thread, go thread crap somewhere else.

you should plan on moving out of ohio and into the city, where cars are not needed. you can either move to new york or someplace like china, where cars are not needed. life will be much easier.

dude calm down, we're trying to help you figure something out but it doesn't help when you only tell us half of the story, like how you get to school.

sorry to keep asking the stupid questions, but i mean its pointless asking for advice unless we know how you get around. How do you get home? Have you talked to your parents about giving you a ride on the weekends to work? Is anything within biking distance? Give us the details so we don't make suggestions that don't make sense.

That's already been covered previously.

Costs more to maintain, and more dangerous.

Typical teenager response to well intentioned advice.
No offense, we all were there too.

There aren't many choices for $1000 unless you get a scooter, which is quite a viable option. There's nothing wrong with riding a scooter to school or anywhere else for that matter if it's too far for a bike. With other choices, the maintenance costs just are too high if you aren't getting any income.

Honestly, no one at that age DESERVES a car unless they worked for it.
I had to ride a bicycle to work over this past fall 2 miles each way in a suit. Had to go on grass because it was a small, busy rode with no shoulder/sidewalk in the south. Then had to ride 4 miles each way in grass for groceries on the weekends carrying everything in a backpack. (The weeks I got milk and juices really sucked) I was in Greenville SC. Didn't have enough money to get a car after paying for my apartment. Finally saved enough to get a cheap car so...

I apologize if I have little sympathy for you.

actually a scooter is not a bad idea. you could pick one up for under 1000, and insurance and gas would be dirt cheap.
