I only owned Darkvoice 332, there is an extensive thread on that and another one on 336i.
For the time that I owned the 332 I used Mullard cv4010 + Svetlana 6S19P-V, although there are other options. I in the end think I like Solid State better.

I have a headroom product, BUT I'm lusting for a Hornet or SR-71

Between a hornet and a headroom micro amp with the desktop module, which would power 300Ohm headphones the best?

I have iriver h140 and I believe it´s better, if I buy microstack thus hornet or tomahawk...

because iriver have optical out and I believe I for will decide headroom amp/dac .

To all the people who voted, did you actually audition all three amps?? Or are these values skewed because you're going with what you own??

Most likely the latter. So I did not use the statistics and went with something else that was not on the poll =]

I'd take the Gilmore Lite over either of those, personally. You may want to look at the Cavalli-Kumisa-Kan III (aka CK2III) which MisterX builds, I think. Try PM'ing him about it.

k701 better with hornet or microamp?

I'm very new to this game but have recently bought a pair of k701s and want to pair it with an amp and possibly the microdac. I'm wondering if anyone has any comparisons between the microamp and hornet with the k701s? Also, does adding the microdac to this mix lead to a preference for one or the other?

This is exactly why I bought the Hornet. I only want one amp to handle everything from home to airplane. The battery life is very good, but you can also run it from AC power. Extremely versatile.
