HD580 from amazon.com-- made in Ireland?

Hi,

Does anyone one know if the HD580's being sold on Amazon.com are made in Ireland? I would prefer getting a HD580 from previous editions, although if that's not possible, I would be happy to get one from the new batch as well.

Thanks!

To my knowledge there is no new batch. HD580 is out of production and Amazon is selling the old batch only.

Even my HD650 (purchased from J&R in Nov 06) is made in Ireland.

I bought mine around the end of December, and they were Ireland.

My HD600s are well-made in Ireland as well!

all the 580s,600s, and 650s are made in Ireland. That's the only plant that has the molds for this particular style, so they're the only ones making that series of headphone. Their 555/595s are made in China (though I have a 595 as well and think it's well made too).

I recently traded with a fellow Head-fier for the HD580. These 'phones were bought recently, and the box indicates, "Made in Ireland."

Mine says that they were made on Mars. Did I get a special edition?

Yeah; it's that lower gravity on Mars. They can get away with cheaper forklifts.

They sound brighter on Mars too. Our thicker atmosphere gives them the Veil some folks claim to hear.
