Greatest Rock Vocals Ever: Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, Rob Halford,..? - Page 2

Did you just call him Bob Halford? Oh no you didn't!

I've got to throw Sebastian Bach from Skid Row in there also. A short lived career (appears to be over) but a great voice regardless.

LOL I caught that too.

I think Gillan and Halford are "technically" better vocalists than Plant, but I can't really choose between them enjoyment-wise. I don't like Dickinson as much as those 3 for some reason (not that I dislike him).

I don't think that he succeded because, as far as I am concerned,
there was no more Black Sabbath after Ozzy was fired in 1978.
However they reunited on several occasions, most notably in 1997.
There is one Ozzy, one Tony, one Geezer, one Bill and therefore only one Black Sabbath.
So, so true.

I agree, Sebastian had one of the truly great Hard Rock voices - The two big selling Skid Row albums have great vocals.

I saw him recentlyon some show where they threw him Ted Nugent, Scott Ian, Evan Seinfeld and Jason Bonham in together to form a supergroup.

Sebastian can still sing, but he whinges like a b*#ch. maybe no testicles explains his vocal range LOL

Pain of Salvation's Daniel Gildenlow blows away pretty much every male rock/metal vocalist I've ever heard, in every way - range, dynamics, emotion, power... you name it, he's got it.

My choice vocalists (in no order): Dave Gilmour, Roger Daltrey, Freddie Mercury, Jim and Van Morrison, Lennon, and McCartney (really late edit, I got into the Beatles). I don't really like either Lee or Jon Anderson, though. I don't mind falsetto, but come on.

AdamCalifornia, why are you making all these threads? Just curious...

Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs and the Twilight Singers.

Lennon & McCartney both had a pretty good voice.
Freddie of course, Chris Isaak, George Michael when he isn't pushing it, David Gilmore.

ROFFLE. Ozzy Osbourne is a crappy singer and the most unimportant member of Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath is, and always will be, a Tony Iommi solo project in all but name. He wrote nearly all the music, after all.

I also think that Ozzy is a crappy singer...Dio is technically waaaaay better,a proper singer.

Joe Strummer

Napoleon Murphy Brock
