Well lets see.. $50-$80 PK2 Vs $180 TM5 one would hope there is a big difference in sound :)

Speaking of TM5 anyone know if and when the next batch of TM5 headphones will be for sale, I sent a email few months ago asking to be put on the list but never heard anything.

help!

i m a bit concerned about the pk's fit and design. i had a NIGHTMARE experience using the stock buds that comes with the clip+

they hurt my ears and keep falling. and  i cant tell from photos what the pk are ?

i own the mx471 and k312 which have perefect fit and comfort , they almost dissapear

any comparison please? i want to get the pk1

the 471 are same as the 581

also the mx470/580 seem to have a good fit and comfort

I ordered my pk2's on June 13 and finally received them today. I have been waiting so patiently to listen to these things and quickly opened the box to plug them in. Right away, I was impressed by the clarity of the music. These are very balanced. As soon as I put it on some hip/hop I noticed my right earbud is blown. It sounds like something is rattling in there. I am so disappointed. :( Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking about returning them for something else if they are made this poorly. I just hope head phone direct is able to ship me a new pair quicker than last time. I don't want to wait another week and a half!!! So bummed!! :(

Bump this up, I've just bought a pk1, and now I want to find it a decent amp. Is tube amp more suitable for pk1 than regular amp like mini3, ibasso etc smily_headphones1.gif

Make sure you burn them in for at least 500 hours, that's what the yuin customer service said, I the burn in my new pair of ok2 for 200 hours so far, the change in the sound is huge that I regret I did not give my pk2 proper burn in when I had them.

wut, 500 hours?eek.gif I'm nowhere close to that with my PK2s. Ah well, guess I better get back at it. only like 450 more hours to go.

I know! I thought bass light phones need far lass burn in than bassy ones like tm5 which I burnt for 700 hours before I experienced constant orgasm. Just because it sounds clean doesn't mean the sound is settled. To think that many reviews here are based on 100 hours burn in standard is scary.

I/m just glad I realized this sooner than later. People who upgrade a lot may experience totally different level of awesomeness throughout their entire life!

I use them with the OTL tube amplifier Woo WA2 which probably is a huge overkill - but it sounds terriffic :)

What is your budget?

Just checking in to report that the PK1 sounds better and better. I'm becoming a burn-in believer :)

edit - just to embriod a little:

It really opens up - there is more air, sound is snappier. In the beginning it felt a bit muddy in copmarison to what it sounds like now.

I really like it better with my tubes (WA2) than with the ProJect Headbox. But then the WA2 is 10 times the price... (you can probably do fine with something smaller, though) :))

Ive had my Yuin PK2's now for a over a week.

Out of the box, my heart dropped a bit as they sounded too loud/muddy/unfocused

70 hours burn in time later...

O.M.G they sound phenominal

Everything has settled down very nicely / the sound stage is VERY wide but everything sounds where it should... despite being so deliciously wide! / Also it seems to have a quite unique ability to put things in a vertical wideness !! Instruments appear at top right/ lower right, left positions... which Ive never expereinced before. / I usually listen through Grado 325sr. The Yuins have a more sensible treble which balances with a perfect bass [for me] / The sound for me seems very balanced. I find myself prefering to listen to my Yuin now than the Grados BUT when I put the Grado's on I remember why I love the Grados!!

I sense that these buds just really love and enjoy presenting all the different types of instruments within the music :)

Without going technical made I just gotta say I love these buds.

I understand that they may not last as long as I would like but seeing as I can find another pair for under £40 Im ok with that

90/100  They loose 10 because of [apparent] build quality issues

(I sealed the area of the wire join with rubbery bath sealant and black electrical tape!!) Not sure if this will give added protection but thought it worth an experiment. (I have a pair of Shure SE530's which I may do the same for)

:D

Hi
Ordered a set of pk2's on the 2nd I think, just dropped though the post now. Running them unamped straight from my my ZHD and even out of the box they sound really good. Yes they'll settle with burn in but I'm shocked at how good they are right out of the box! I was a little dubious about ordering them at first but the reviews are right on the money. There like a mini ms1i lol. Really happy with my purchase! :-)

Currently On my second 80 hour burn in of my PK2's and yes.... they just keep getting better and better

They are SO good I even bought a 2nd pair so I wont cry when my 1st pair break !!

Ps Also REALLY blown away and enjoying a set of newly bought Yuin G1's (especially after an 80 hour burn in!)
