hello

so i think i've quite determined to go with the t10 for a player with regular batteries, good sound and sturdiness. however, coulnd't quite understand as i'm new to this stuff - is it compatible with Mac OS also? no XP and Windows Media Player (oh, i really hate this thing :S) requirement?

but
*** US and EU models support only Windows XP with WMP10.
??

and haven't quite figured out the UMS issue. there seems to be a firmware update to switch to UMS. what's the UMS all about? supposed to be simple drag & drop and somewhere i read it means every OS should support it as long as it supports external hard drives / usb sticks etc

When you upgrade the firmware it asks if you want to use UMS or MTP. UMS is USB Mass Storage which is supported natively under pretty much every modern operating system. MTP is Media Transfer Protocol which requires WMP. Mine is in UMS mode and shows up as a flash drive in every computer I've plugged it into.
