supposedly v-moda did its own design and engineering, and OVC was just involved as manufacturer or with the manufacturer. OVC mildly altered the design of the early version of the vibe (the less bassy open-backed version) and released it as the t25 for some months until V-moda pressured them to stop.

Sorry to hear about your impressions. From what I can remember, they sounded nice to me on the first try. Details are close to im716, but the bass is very light even in a quiet room where I tested. Outside in the real world, I would say the bass disappears without EQing.
