Just got my dt-770s

WOW, I dont even have an amp yet but the bass on these already blows the hd-280s out of the water. These are very comfortable headphones, atleast for my size head. In fact, I think they are more comfrtable than the hd-280s, because my earings dont rub against the inside on these. As far as sound, well I just listened to a few rock songs, and um....., these rock! I will post more info in once I have some hours of listening in on these phones

My sentiments exactly, only I end up listening to them a lot more often than I initially expected to.

fujimi442, if you think they rock now, just wait 'til you get an amp I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy mine.

yeah i got them from B&H also, great service. I also just realized these involve me more in the music than the hd-280s did, I am actually jumpping around in my seat.

Expect to be pleasantly surprised by their midrange too. Guitars never sound so smooth...just ask Audio&Me.

I honestly find myself jamming to the 770's over any headphone that i own. I've come to the conclusion that the Grado sound isn't for me at all.

Im also happy that I will be able to wear these in public, those hd280s looked funny. When I put the 770s next to my 280s the 280s look like some sort of plastic toy. I expected the 770s to weigh a ton and have the clamping force of the jaws of life, but they are actually a wonderfull fit and feel for my head. I tried having my mom listen to both, she couldnt tell the difference and told me " Well, as long as you can tell the difference and they were worth the extra 50" I responded with "actually, I think I am in love with them". Its wierd to think that a little under a year ago I was so excited to buy my new 20 dollar headphones, and know I have a 140 dollar pair of earmuffs. What a crazy day, I woke up to a 70 deg. day after a week of snow, then I got my new headphones, and then I got a ticket for tresspassing on train truss(bridge). But I got some good pics

Ps. I am haveing real trouble putting these things down, I cant stop listening!
I should be going to bed, but this cd wont be over for quite a while

hey i'm in the same sitiuation as you i have the HD 280's and i have them amped with a cha 47. While they sound good and i love the isolation, they have that flat laid back response which kinda sucks for hard rock. Are the beyer 770's better in that aspect, and how does the grado line stack up also what about like HD 580's.

is 770pro perfect ?

Hey, nobody said they were perfect, but they are great for the money. I was obviously comparing them to the hd-280s which are 50 dollars less, take some prozak dude, chill out, I am just in new headphones bliss. I'll comment more on the sound later once they are burned in, but actually, yes I think they are the most perfect pair of headphones ever made anywhere on earth, period! Not only that, I also think they are better than any other headphones in exsistance, and probably even better than a professional speaker system.

have a good newyears

And by the way prozax, I have 22 more posts than you so bow down!

wow, I hope people take this the right way.

fujumi, do you think that the bass on the 770's can compare to the bass on a tight 8" sub/woofer, or a 6"?

Or am I just expecting too much?

right with ya

now that I got the 580s *at 125 bucks...I'm feeling lucky...
I'm looking at my only other choise...I started with an EXREAMLY broad list of headphones including even Koss and Bose ... It got grinded down tons...in the end I knew I wanted either HD580s or DT770s...now that I got 1 I'm incredibly happy, but I would LOVE to hear the other...open air is neat but I also want closed air...yeah I'm greedy ...
