Which one of these players should i get? Which is the best?
I'm gonna use it with my Mapletree Ear+ Purist HD amp and RS-1/K701 headphones ...

I'm pretty happy with my CE595 but others might say that the other sources you named are of higher quality.

Definetly. I just wanna know if worth paying the extra money to buy the NAD or Cambridge instead of the Sony?

In my opinion it's not worth spending the extra money on the other players until you've tried the Sony. Give the Sony a try and if you don't like it return it and buy something else. I doubt you'll find another player in its price range that is as good IMHO. I have the feeling that you are looking for the best bang for your buck and that's why I recommend the Sony.

My NAD C521BEE is a large step-up from my CE595. Better resolution, more musicality, and of course, better build quality. The only thing I find more enjoyable than the NAD, is that the CE595's aggressive sound signature is sometimes a little more appealing for Indy rock albums and SACD playback is nice to have for the few SACDs I own. Other than that, it's mostly downhill. The noise floor on the Sony is much higher, build quality is well, Sony, and it just isn't as refined as the NAD. There's much more grain and sybillance.

What about the Marantz CD5001? What do you think about it? I cost the same as the NAD ...

i never heard of the sony but i have a nad 521 and i heard 640, not 340. i like the nad better. the cambridge sound quite flat and boring to me.

epaludo, maybe I misunderstood and thought you were looking for a unit that played SACD's? For redbook the Nad and Cambridge are better but at a higher price than the Sony. I have listened to a couple different Nad models and also the Cambridge 640C and they are both better at considerably higher prices with my preference going to the Nad I listened to. I believe the Nad was the 542.

I'm also interested in comparisons between the NAD, Marantz, and Cambridge Audio. I currently have a Philips DVP-642 and Sony SCD CE595, but would like something better. I plan to use as a transport with either my Zhaolu or a Beresford MKIII
