The last bike I built up is a custom steel Spectum fixed-gear (road) by Tom Kellogg of Merlin fame, and master builder Jeff Duser. Its an awesome bike built up with Campy Record and Shimano Dura-Ace components, and Phil Wood High Flange hubs. The other bike is a Campy Record/Chorus equiped Colnago Master Light. Just got a NOS threaded chrome fork and a Chris King headset for the 'Nag, and will be switching out the threadless carbon fork soon.

Just purchased a new bike two weeks ago: Rivendell Rambouillet. It's setup for long distance riding with a Brooks leather saddle. It has Honjo dimpled aluminium fenders to cope with Oregon's rain.

Yesterday's ride was 47 miles. The temperature was a brisk 45F, with 20 to 30 mph winds and periods of heavy rain. And yes, I went out that weather again today.

I used to commute to work. The coldest morning was 31F and dense fog. When I arrived at work, my glasses, gloves, etc. were covered with a layer of ice.

That was a cold 5 miles!

I used to be into mountain biking and dirt jumps. I had a Norco Bigfoot which when I get really desperate for cash I'll probably sell ( I haven't used it in a while)

Yeah, I have some extensive scarring from my early teens. I first had Odyssey Bear Trap 2 pedals on my dirt jumper. Those were rediculous devices that were orginally made to torture people in Chinese POW camps. My goodness. When the Primo Meat Tenderizers came out I swapped the bear traps for those. They were a bit less painfull when I missed the pedals on a sick no-footed one-hander.

I've still got Odyssey Sharkbites on mine, but they are soon to go- sharp enough to hurt but bugger all grip, so my feet slide off all the time! DMR V8s are on their way (finally!).

Any recumbent riders here? Specifically, recumbent trike riders?

I test-rode a Catrike Trail this past Saturday, and really loved it. I'm picking one up at my local dealer this week, along with some new clipless shoes, etc.

Here's the one I'm getting:

And here is a link to it if anyone want to check it/the other models out.
Catrike Performance Trikes

The only drawback is the high prices for even entry models, but after riding one, it seems worth it.
