is finally over!! Woo Hoo! the Pros are here!!!

Sorry about the pic quality, but the lighting in here suks

































Overall .. I am very happy with the build quality, being a woodworker and all, I realise that these are not funiture or a stratavarius <sp>

And first impressions? These are very light!! lighter than my hd595s, so I don't think comfort is going to be an issue

The sound you ask? ... I am having such an EARGASM that I can't wipe the grin off my face!!

For a moment there I thought the the box contained some emergency medical supply after reading the label "Extremely Urgent: Please Rush to Addressee."

But I guess it's something much better than that. Those cans look really nice.

Congratulations from a Grado RS-1 owner! If the Grados are any comparison (which, from all accounts, they are), you are going to be very happy and for a very long time!

Congrats! It's very nice indeed. The wood is pretty light coloured compared to others. I like!

very interested to hear your, um... more detailed opinion. i've recently started to consider the MS-PROs rather than the RS-1s for my grado splurge purchase.

I'm not too concerned with a tiny bit of the wood imperfections, because as I already know, mahogany is a very open grained wood and does not finish as well as some other more exotic woods. OMG I just love the 'up front' and nearly 'live' sound of these! These are very lightweight and comfortable! I can very easily forget I even have them on

I didn't detect any negativity in your post Milk, I always find them informative, so don't fret too much Altogether, I guess because of weather and back orders I had to wait 7 agonizing weeks But in the end... IT'S WORTH IT!!

Really congrats on getting your new baby. The wood color is pretty good. I thought the color of new MSPs now were all soil yellow; fortunately it's not. But you can see that the previous headband is wider, and I think the old Times New Roman (not sure?) font on the earcups looks better than Courier.

Very nice purchase indeed.

Judging from the photos on Alessandro's website, the wood seemed to be of a darker grain, but I definitly prefer this lighter version for whatever reason. My soon-to-arrive MS1's now seem meager in comparison - however, I assume I'll enjoy them as much as you will your MS-Pro's.

Congrats on the MS-Pros. Glad you are liking them. I'm impressed that they sent it out to you Express Mail.

Whispering...it looks like the new MS-Pro/RS-1s still show visible wood splintering on the edge near the black mesh grill. This can best be seen in the 6th pic down from the top. However, the splintering is much less severe than what I saw with my "late Friday" RS-1 from a year ago.

I think Grado recently has gone to a lighter "honey-colored" stain for both the RS-1 and MS-Pro. My older MS-Pros (as well as older RS-1s I've seen) have a darker "walnut-colored" stain.
