Here is the reply I got back from AKG.

The K518DJ will not be available in the US market until spring (April/May). Product purchased overseas will not be covered by warranty in the US. In the event that service is required it would have to be shipped back to the country of original purchase.

If you can not wait for the release of the new design you may want to consider the current K81DJ which is identical in performance but slightly different in appearance.

Come on AKG, how about a K 91 DJ that improves on comfort and sound.

The fame of the K 81 DJ/ K 518 DJ is dying down...
