Of those I have heard, the Stax Omega II.

Omega IIs to these ears. Female vocals can be downright frightening late at night.

HD 650 is always a favourite.

Can't go wrong with them.

well..
It depends..
I like some female vocalists on my DT 990 and some sound breathtaking on the GS-1000. I also LOVE the midband on the HD590's.

Of what I've heard I like the Senn 595s and Ergo 2s the best (rest of what I have/have heard in profile).

Stax SR-X3

Depends on the type of music. Classical soprano (Vangelis Mythodea atm) and my Pavarotti CDs can be just STUNNING with the AMT. Such an incredible presentation of vocal resonance, better than the O2 to my ears. Omega 2 is more capable with larger scale ensemble voices, choirs and so. But not by a huge margin.
