Head-Fi Younguns Check-in!

Thread Starter
Lets see how much the youth have permeated the boards....

I'm talking pure young people who found Head-Fi completely on their own, led by their quest for amazing audio. No "my parents are head-fiers" or any variation, YOU began on the quest for better sound and you wound up here, and your wallet ended up lighter!

I am 14, and have spent nearly $200 already, who else is out there?

Hi. My name is Eric, and I am addicted to Head-Fi. I am 17 years old. I have already spent much money on this. I need help.

Sophomore report: went here to look for a headphone for when my Klipsch Promedias were impractical for listening. Now, scrounging up the money for a good amp for DT990s and a dedicated DAC. I also gave up the money for an Xbox 360 to buy my new rig...

18 years old. Thanks to head-fi, I had to get a good headphone rig, portable rig, car setup, and speaker rig. Factoring in everything, I'm about 10k in. Time to sell some stuff I guess.

While I almost regret admitting it, I am 15 but will be 16 in about a month.
Didn't see that coming, did you?

Well, it's true. How much have I spent so far? Much, much more than I would have liked to. I'm going to guesstimate over $6000. Under that when factoring in selling equipment. Am I "done"? Right now I'd love to think so, and thats what my ears are telling me right now, but my setup is still very new, so I don't know how long it will stay this way.

I hope this admission doesn't lessen the weight of my opinion in the eyes of the older folks around here.

My question goes out to Computerpro3 and 003.

Where did you guys come up with that kind of money to spend?
guess this is some indication that good audio will live on with the next generations of consumers. Bravo to you all for dedicating the time and money in the pursuit of the hobby. I'm 20 now but started getting into hifi in middle school, around 15. Now I can say i don't see myself letting go of the hobby anytime soon. Ill try to come to the headfest 2007 so hopefully see y'all there.
