These are the latest version from Luminous Audio with the fiberglass jacket and the innovative Eichmann Gold Bullet Plugs. The fiberglass jacket is a simple semi-flexible tube that covers the loose wires within and as such, must be treated with care. There have been no fit or tightness issues with the Bullet Plugs thus far.

Lets just say that they are the best of the three well regarded copper ICs (AZ Matrix2, Music Metre Canto) that I have tried in my system. Its all there:

- great bass response
- amazing sense of attack/decay
- notes emerging from a black background
- a properly weighted midrange

The Synchestra Signature Reference toes a fine line in its presentation of high frequency detail, while at the same time maintaining a very smooth sound characteristic overall. Slightly forward in the upper mids and lower treble, they tend to bring vocals and certain instruments (violins, acoustic guitar) closer to the fore. It has a richness and presence that reaches out to you, along with a refined sense of micro-dynamics that makes everything sound right. This cable complements both my headphone (EMP/ W2002) and speaker system (45 SET) in a most gratifying way.

The LASSR seems to highlight those great qualities that I have always recognized in my system, and it is somewhat forgiving of mediocre recordings to boot. My one slight critcism is that the LASSR is a bit more forward than I could wish but given its other virtures, I will be ordering another two pairs shortly.

Where to from here? After contentedly settling down with silver for a while, I have found copper more to my taste an expectations. At this point I've run through all the copper cables that I have any interest in except one: the Yamamura 6000.

Have you any interest in the VD interconnects (Nite, etc.)?

Those are Tim Stinson's interconnects. Bob Crump does make a modified version (mostly having to do w/ the connectors, I think) of Tim's silver cables, the Luminous Audio Synchestra (not to be confused w/ the Luminous Audio Synchestra Signature and Synchestra Reference, which are both copper). I have an old pair of LASS, myself, and will be replacing them w/ the LASR sometime in the future, most likely.
