Vibes okay for movies/gaming?

In addition to some music, I plan on using the phones with some gaming and movie watching.

Recommended?

If not, any other canalphone/iem under $100 that can satisfy these requirements? ER6i? UM1?

These activities seem to be their bread and butter. They definately favor anything action oriented, definately favoring bass, explosions, that kind of stuff.

From what I read, these would be perfect. You don't need overly analytic IEM's like ER6i for games and movies. They wouldn't add any fun to it.

Sounds good. Where would be the best place to buy Vibes atm? I've so far only found amazon for $85.

Gunmetal or Chrome?

I found them at Amazon but for $65 plus about $5 shipping. That was the best I found.

Im partial to the gunmetal look. I believe that they would be suitable for both of your hobbies. Not as good as a nice set of cans but if you like IEMs then go for it. Just remember, if you are in dire need of isolations, they arent meant for that department.

Amazon has them listedn as $85--not seeing 65 anywhere?

No isolation? Hm. That could pose problem as I room with 2 other guys and regularly commute to classes on the bus.

Anything similar in the same department which can isolate a bit better than the Vibes?

JVC Marshmallows? super.fi 3? UM1?

If you really want a good bass for gaming and movies, i wouldnt recommend um1s. Marshmellows have lotta bass but im not sure if its isolation is much more if at all than vibes.

it has isolation but its not as isolating as other IEMs such as the shures and the etys, but it still isolates

ER6i's have the best Isolation in it's class, I guess they could be good for gaming and movies.

!?

Gaming benefits greatly from an expansive soundstage and I'm fairly certain such a trait would prove congenial as far as immersion in movies as well.

Why would you choose a portable to accomplish this?

Unless the Vibe does have a sound stage on par with the larger phones (which I doubt); if so, forgive me.

Unless I'm on the go, I'd never choose an IEM/canalbud for movie watching or gaming..

Hm. A poster in a previous Vibe review thread had commented and claimed that they excelled in movies and gaming.

Do you have some suggestion for some closed cans under $100 then if canalphones/iems aren't the way to go?

I find the KSC75 is pretty good for gaming too. Cheaper alternative.
