HELP!!! What gives with copying ALAC-converted CD's into my iPod???

As I alluded to in another thread, for some weird, bizarre, unknown reason, I'm having a bitch of a time getting CD's that I've imported into iTunes in ALAC format into my iPod. My iPod is a brand new fifth generation 30GB model, and it has no problem with MP3's, wav files (whether sourced from CDs or vinyl) or photos. In fact, the same issue occurred with a previous iPod I owned of the same model type. I just get the same error message each time: "Attempting to copy to the disk "xxxx" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."

Anyone have ANY idea what's going on here? Thanks!

Mine accepts m4a (ALAC) files fine, although mine are transcoded from FLAC to m4a via Sveta. I did have to update the firmware in my iPod.

My first suggestion would be to make sure your firmware and itunes version are up to date. Other than that, I would be lost.

Looks like I've found the problem. I had been connecting the iPod via a port on a Belkin USB hub. At the suggestion of a friend, I connected it directly to a USB port off of the computer, and guess what - no more problems transferring ALAC files into the iPod. Wish they were all this easy!
